How do you even imagine that would work? And now, of course, people start crying that their computers got infected with malware. Which is great - every genius who fell for this obvious phishing scam deserved it. I hope your shitty computer burns and you along with it.

Bronies go nuts, and Nintendo Sucks?Equestria Girls
The trailer to "Equestria Girls" (the humanized MLP spinoff film) finally was released today. Aaaannnd everyone's freaking out. Again.
You know, it actually looks pretty decent. Bronies... please understand: I know you're a major unexpected demographic for the show. I know you enjoy seeing shout-out's become canon within the show, and appreciate how the creators do little things here and there for you. But... the show isn't made for you. This is not Cartoon Network and the target demographic isn't 25 year olds in college. You're a nice addition to the target demographic of little girls, but you are not the driving force behind MLP.
I don't want this to sound mean, but it needs to be said. This is where it becomes very important to understand the fine line between being a fan of the show and thinking that because you've invested so much energy into the show that you're entitled to things.
I'm sure the movie won't be as bad as everyone makes it out to be. It honest

Opinions are a Dangerous thing: Art StylesThis isn't about narking on anyone no, infact this is just my own muses really! You could say this is a journal for ENCOURAGEMENT! *SHINES*
I find sticking to one style restrictive if you are a beginning/moderate artist! (even professionals I might say! though I can't speak for everyone)
Having a distinctive look on how your art is done and produced is understandable and its a desire to appear unique to the point some one can just SEE your work and instantly think 'Oh! that's Ten-days!' or something along the line. However, when you are trying to find who you are and what kind of art you are to produce, I recommend trying, well, a lot of different things! Different styles, mixing styles, different colouring techinque, brushes, tools, shading. Don't feel dependant on what you are already doing and don't feel pressured by people just for trying new things!
Push out of your comfort zone. Can't draw hands? don't avoid it! draw the heck out of them! (how else are you going to learn?)

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone and welcome to 2010! It's the start of a new decade, with lots of possibilities.

I kind of gave up on resolutions a long time ago, but I think I'm going to make the resolution that I want to spend more time on art, and submit more stuff to deviantart. Last year I only submitted 19 deviations, 14 if you don't include my devmeet photos. I've become a bit more interested in photography lately, especially with my Christmas present of a camera filter and photography books, and I would like to get into photography a bit more. I want to try other arts too, especially more artisan crafts. Plus I'm hoping my subscription will provide me with a bit of motivation.

So what did you do to celebrate the coming of the new year? I went out with a friend to wander London and take pictures, then we went back to her house to watch the fireworks on TV and eat snack food. Then today we braved the cold to watch the New Year's day parade. I had a good time, even though now I'm just really tired because we stayed up really late/early.

Good luck to everyone in the new year, good luck keeping your resolutions if you made some, and most of all have fun!
